Not your ordinary legal site. This site has lots of content and is not only interesting, but fun. Obviously, it only refers to American law. You can check out easily written summaries for various cases setting out the background, facts and verdict, you can track various cases Court TV feels will be of interest to its viewers, you can look up famous American trials and even see video clips of some well known trials. There is a wonderful feature that is not at all obvious or easy to find called "Ask the Lawyers" in which you can find a Family Law section. I found it by searching for "family law" using the search feature of the site. This section has a number of very interesting articles on different topics. this is another of those sites you can fall into and browse and browse until your eyes are blurry.
Created by a trial lawyer in New Jersey, this site is intended to help lawyers evaluate unusual cases. It has some case examples. You can use their panels to see how your case might do with a jury. The idea is ambitious but the site still needs work.
A gigantic listing of sites for the legal profession. For a not immodest description of what is offered, here is how they describe their site: "HG is the largest and only comprehensive legal site with over 20,000 original pages and more than 70,000 links. HG I contains information on over 6,000 legal organizations including every government in the world. HG II 's 200+ practice areas, 300+ discussion groups and 50 doing business guides provide free access to substantive information. Now, hundreds of hours of online seminars have been incorporated as well." They tell us more, but you get the idea.
A monthly on-line newsletter "focussing on practical use of the Internet by the legal industry." The Internet Lawyer has law related resources and lawyer's home pages.
An on-line service for finding lawyers and legal resources. LawInfo has a huge Attorney Directory (both U.S. and International lawyers by name and area of law) as well as a valuable directory with a wide range of legal support service providers and experts.
Lots of links to "business of law" sites around the Internet, classified ads for legal jobs in the U.S., newsgroups, etc. Law Journal Extra! also has links to U.S. legal decisions and government documents. But you need to register to get to most of its information.
An ecletic listing of sites to Legal Related Internet Resources (and some not so legal related) by Pinky, a.k.a. Dara Jill Sales, a law student at Seton Hall University School of Law. She seems to be an interesting lady with quite a varied background. Visit here when you're finished being serious for the day.
This is the site for the Legal Research Network's On-Line Service. Helps you locate the expert you need to win your case.
A Canadian Internet site with all kinds of legal resources. The Surfing Lawyer pulls together information from other sites directly on its opening menu and has lots of links to information in which a Canadian lawyer might be interested.
If you know of other legal sites which you think should be added to this Directory, please let us know. Thanks, Joel Miller.
One of the most noteable things about the Internet is how often sites you really like disappear. Everyone of the sites referred to above was operational and accessable at the time it was reviewed - but there is no guarantee it's still there. If you tried to click onto a site and had difficulty, please send us an e-mail so we can look into it. Thanks, Joel Miller
