Divorce Helpline

Back to Contents

This is a most helpful link dealing with many issues involved in divorce. Though American in specific content, most of the brief articles are of equal value to Canadians. They constitute a great "primer" on the subject.

The Reading Room and A Short Divorce Course deal with many important matters on the minds of most people going through a divorce and have lots of helpful comments. A Directory of self-help services (primarily American) and the Bookstore (many useful books) are recommended. The Links to Other Sites is really well constructed and a wonderful resource to information on the Internet.

Divorce Online

Back to Contents

This is a resource for people involved in, or facing, divorce. It has an interesting section of archived articles and some talk back features but you need to register to get to their bulletin board (He Said ... She Said). It seems to be quite a commercial site, so that the listings for lawyers is a paid advertizing site not a compilation of family law lawyers in the particular area.

Divorce Source

Back to Contents

This site has several articles about various aspects of divorce of interest to couples and parents going through the divorce process. It has a variety of bulletin boards annd a chat room so you can talk with others going through your experience.

Divorce Support

Back to Contents

There's not much here about the legal aspects of divorce - but lots about living through one. You can get the legal information on other sites if you want it. It has a bulletin boards dealing with various aspects of divorcing and chat rooms as well as articles about various aspects of divorce.

Family Law Advisor

Back to Contents

This site has an extensive and informative FAQ section with many serious and easy to understand answers to a wide range of family law related questions.

It also has an Interactive Bulletin Board for people to post their own questions about anything relating to family law and allows anyone else to post a comment or reply. These are real people talking to real people. (At the FLC we hope to develop a similar service for Canadians experiencing the issues of separation and divorce along with the attendant financial problems and difficulties relating to custody and access as well as recombined families. Check out our Speaker's Corner.)

PACE Custody Home Page

Back to Contents

Put up by the American Professional Academy of Custody Evaluators (PACE), this is a site aimed at professionals. But it's also a site which can be of real value to parents involved in custody assessments or appraisals (whether in the United States or Canada) because it shows what these professionals see as important.

The Custody Newsletter Archive contains articles on Custody Evaluation by members from a variety of professions and is definitely worth looking into for lawyers and clients as well as custody assessors. The PACE Custody Links section takes you to sites dealing with Family Law and Child Support and More Psychology of the Web as well as other useful places to visit.

There is a lot of substance available on this site. Be prepared to spend some time here if you are interested in the issue of a custody appraisal.

One of the most noteable things about the Internet is how often sites you really like disappear. Everyone of the sites referred to above was operational and accessable at the time it was reviewed - but there is no guarantee it's still there. If you tried to click onto a site and had difficulty, please send us an e-mail so we can look into it. Thanks, Joel Miller
