You want family law information? We’ve got it.

The FLC FAQ section gives you info PDQ.

Check out our list or topics and see if there’s a topic in which you’re interested. Then visit that section and see if it has what you’re looking for.

Just remember, this section isn’t intended to provide legal advice. It’s to give you a heads up about what lawyers are talking about for each named section so you’ll have a pretty good idea about the subject before having to pay any fees. This is a good way to get into the subject and get some grip on what’s involved.

Don’t think that by reading the information set out in any of the FLC FAQs – or in any of the other FAQ sections we offer - you’ve become an expert on the subject. You haven’t. Don’t assume that because something is set out as a piece of general information it’s the actual answer to your situation. It might not be.

The idea behind any FAQ section, here at the FLC or any where else, is to give you a broad introduction to the subject and some basic information. The hope is that fundamental misunderstandings will be avoided (such as thinking that child support doesn’t have to be paid for a child the parent doesn’t see or visit), but the FAQ section won’t be able to answer if you have an exception to the rule or if the basic rule doesn’t apply to you and your particular case.

The FLC is big in believing that an informed client is the best client and that it’s always good when a client already has a basic understanding of the law when he or she comes into the office.

But a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing and we’re also big in believing that if anyone has a family law problem, the best thing they can do is to consult with a lawyer – even if only for a single visit – to outline their specific circumstances and be sure that what they think the law says is actually the case.

So poke around in the various FAQs offered by us here at the FLC and those offered on the other sites we mention.
