On July 1st, 2003, 6 provinces
signed the National Mobility Agreement (NMA) which
provides for temporary and permanent mobility of lawyers
throughout the signatory jurisdictions. If you’re
in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba,
Ontario, or Nova Scotia and have a client in one of
the others in that list you’ll be able to act
for them in that province for up to 100 days each
year.
To get a better idea of what
this is about check out the summary
posted by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada
on their website.
